The vibrant Ageas Corporate Centre in Brussels is home to a variety of Group level functions including, amongst others, Risk, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Strategy, Business Development and Corporate Communications. It sets out the long term strategy for Ageas and coordinates numerous initiatives across the Group to help realise the strategic ambitions. The Corporate Centre also facilitates knowledge and skills sharing amongst its local operating entities and JV’s, creating strong connections and leveraging on local strengths. It represents the Ageas Group towards external parties, managing relations with analysts, retail and institutional investors, regulators, rating agencies and the media.

Your function

The objective of the function is to lead the insurance-related sustainability agenda for Ageas by embedding ESG (environment / social / governance) considerations into products, services and underwriting, while ensuring alignment with the Group sustainability strategy and evolving regulatory expectations.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Shape and deliver the ESG Products ambition as a core pillar of the Ageas sustainability strategy, in close collaboration with business entities in Europe and Asia.
    • Define the ESG Products roadmap for the next strategic cycle, including ambition level, priorities, target setting and delivery milestones.
    • Translate the strategy into concrete initiatives that stimulate innovation, support business development and strengthen Ageas’ market positioning.
    • Mobilise the ESG Products community by sharing external benchmarks, internal best practices and practical guidance across operating companies.
    • Keep ESG Products top of mind and actionable through stakeholder engagement, targeted learning initiatives with Ageas Academy, and regular internal and external communication.
  • Ensure robust ESG Products performance management and reporting against agreed targets.
    • Safeguard the ESG Products methodology and calculation approach to ensure consistent application across businesses and compliance with external reporting requirements.
    • Consolidate business results at Group level and ensure high-quality internal and external reporting, including disclosures in the Ageas Annual Report and ESG rating requirements.
    • Monitor relevant regulatory developments, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy and related non-financial reporting requirements, and assess their implications for Ageas in collaboration with Legal and the Non-Financial Reporting Team.
  • Embed ESG considerations into underwriting and ensure alignment with applicable regulations, frameworks and Group policies.
    • Ensure that ESG criteria are appropriately reflected in relevant Ageas policies and underwriting guidelines.
    • Advance the responsible underwriting approach, with particular attention to sensitive sectors, risk and consistent application across the Group.
    • Contribute to the insurance dimension of the Ageas Climate Transition Plan, including portfolio emissions measurement, reduction levers, standards monitoring and related disclosures.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness, governance and thought leadership of the Group Sustainability team.
    • Support sustainability governance through input for the ESG SteerCo and status updates to the Board, Executive Committee and Business Committee.
    • Act as a centre of expertise on ESG topics by responding to internal and external requests and representing Ageas in relevant external bodies and expert networks.
    • Contribute to cross-cutting Group Sustainability initiatives, including double materiality analysis, social impact workstream and other strategic projects.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree with a strong interest in sustainability.
  • 12–15 years of relevant professional experience, combined with a strong understanding of insurance products, business processes and value chains.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate ambition into structured roadmaps, concrete initiatives and measurable delivery.
  • Strong project leadership skills, with the capacity to work across cultures and mobilise colleagues around a shared ambition.
  • Positive, pragmatic and creative mindset, combined with high standards for quality, governance and reporting.
  • Excellent communicator able to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder topics and influence senior and expert audiences.
  • Comfortable with reporting, digital tools and AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Fluent in English and willing to travel when necessary.
