How to report a hospital admission? It couldn't be simpler! 

You can report your hospital admission in different ways. Find out here which options you can use depending on your personal situation. If you have a My Healthcare Card, you can report your hospital admission directly via​ MyAG Employee Benefits ​(app or desktop)​.​

You can report your hospital admission up to two months in advance (or three months in the case of childbirth) and as soon as possible for unscheduled admissions. 

​​​You can report a hospital admission for one of your relatives. To do so, you will need the contract number, the admission date, the name of the hospital, the type of room, the pathology, etc.

How to report a hospital admission for a family member? 

If you have all the information and the consent of the person in the hospital, there are several ways to report the hospital admission. Find out here​ which options you can use depending on your personal situation. If the patient has a My Healthcare Card and it has been activated, you can report the hospital admission via MyAG Employee Benefits (app or desktop)​.​

Are you in the hospital and undergoing tests to determine the cause of your condition?

Then review the list of conditions and select the one that best matches yours. Be sure to describe your symptoms, the affected organ or body part, etc. as accurately as possible in the "Description" field. Enter several keywords to narrow down your search.

For example, if you have stomach pains that require hospitalisation but you do not yet know the cause, indicate "Other bowel diseases" as the condition and describe your symptoms as completely as possible in the "Description" field.

You can search for a condition by entering its name, but also on the basis of keywords, such as the main symptoms, the affected organ or body part, etc. Enter several keywords to narrow down your search.

Your condition may be included in a more general category. For example, if you enter "cruciate ligaments" as keywords, the system will automatically suggest the pathology "knee condition".

Still can't find your pathology in the list of conditions? 

Then review the list of conditions and select the one that best matches yours. Be sure to describe your symptoms, the affected organ or body part, etc. as accurately as possible in the "Description" field.

If you cannot find a similar condition, tick the box "I cannot find the condition" and describe your symptoms as accurately as possible.

​​​Sometimes the hospital will change the date of a previously scheduled hospital admission. If you have already reported your hospital admission, there are several possibilities.

Has your hospital admission been accepted with third-party payer arrangements?

You should then check the acceptance letter or e-mail to see exactly when we have agreed to settle the bill with the hospital directly. You will find this information in the "Information about the hospital stay" - "Possible admission between" section. If the new admission date is between the dates specified, you do not need to do anything as our agreement with the hospital remains in effect.

If the new admission date is outside the dates listed under "Possible admission between", you must inform AG of the new date. You can communicate this information to us via the e-mail address or telephone number indicated on your hospital acceptance letter or e-mail.

Has your hospital admission been accepted without third-party payer arrangements or is further information required?

You will need to inform AG of the new date. You can communicate this information to us via the e-mail address or telephone number indicated on your hospital acceptance letter or e-mail.

You will receive confirmation from us within two business days, by e-mail or by ordinary mail, depending on the preference you indicated on your form.

Has your hospital admission been accepted with third-party payer arrangements? 

In that case, AG will settle the bill with the hospital in question directly. There is no need for you to pay anything on site. Simply go to the admissions desk on the scheduled day with your ID card and our confirmation letter or e-mail.

Has your hospital admission been accepted without third-party payer arrangements?

This means that AG has approved your hospital stay and that you will receive a bill for the services. You will have to settle the bill with the hospital yourself. Afterwards, send us a copy of the detailed itemised invoices (all pages) and we will reimburse you in accordance with the contact terms and conditions.

Is further information required for your hospital admission case file?

Please provide us with the requested information as soon as possible so that we can complete your case file. 

Whether or not you can claim back room surcharges and supplemental doctors' fees will depend on the covers included in your plan.

Do you have an individual plan (AG Care and Hospitalisation Plus)?

AG applies a policy of hospital segmentation. We therefore cover all medical expenses in the vast majority of hospitals, regardless of the type of room selected. 

However, if you choose a single room in an expensive hospital (e.g. a university hospital or a hospital in Brussels), you will have to pay half the hospital bill yourself. To obtain a full refund, you can add the "university option" and "SL option" to your plan.

Do you have coverage through your employer?

If so, then you will generally be covered if you opt to stay in a single room. Note, however, that a deductible is often applicable to stays in a single room. The deductible is also often higher than if you choose a shared room.
