The vibrant Ageas Corporate Centre in Brussels is home to a variety of Group level functions including, amongst others, Risk, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Strategy, Business Development and Corporate Communications. It sets out the long-term strategy for Ageas and coordinates numerous initiatives across the Group to help realise the strategic ambitions. The Corporate Centre also facilitates knowledge and skills sharing amongst its local operating entities and JV’s, creating strong connections and leveraging on local strengths. It represents the Ageas Group towards external parties, managing relations with analysts, retail and institutional investors, regulators, rating agencies and the media.
Your function
The objective of the compliance function is to see that the company and its employees comply with the laws, regulations, internal rules and ethical standards. To that end, the Compliance Officer will identify and assess potential compliance risk and ensure the professional management (monitoring, reporting and mitigating measures) of those risks.
Your responsibilities include among others:
- Support the implementation and execution of the compliance function within Ageas Corporate Centre as defined by regulation and internal policy
- Manage projects needed to cope with upcoming regulations like Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive
- Support regular update on legal and regulatory changes
- Ensure the translation of the regulatory framework and rules into precise policies and instructions
- Ensure monitoring and assessing of compliance with laws, regulations and policies
- Ensure the adequate reporting both to internal and external stakeholders
- Implement data driven solutions to support all Compliance Efforts (both at level of Monitoring and Advisory activities)
- Take the necessary measures (training, information and advisory) to reduce potential compliance risks
- Participate to the investigation efforts in case of allegation of conduct breaches (Financial Crime, Bribery, Internal Fraud)
Your profile
Qualifications
- Master’s degree
Previous experience/ competences
- Minimal 5 years of experience in a Compliance, Risk, Audit or Legal function.
- Demonstrate highest degree of integrity and discretion
- Communicate clearly and passionately
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to shine in an international context
- Understanding of the (re)insurance business
Language skills
- Fluent in English both spoken as written.
- Fluent in Dutch or French is a plus
