The vibrant Ageas Corporate Centre in Brussels is home to a variety of Group level functions including, amongst others, Risk, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Strategy, Business Development and Corporate Communications. It sets out the long term strategy for Ageas and coordinates numerous initiatives across the Group to help realise the strategic ambitions. The Corporate Centre also facilitates knowledge and skills sharing amongst its local operating entities and JV’s, creating strong connections and leveraging on local strengths. It represents the Ageas Group towards external parties, managing relations with analysts, retail and institutional investors, regulators, rating agencies and the media.

Your function

The Executive Remuneration specialist is responsible for assisting in the design and delivery of Ageas’ executive compensation plans, whilst ensuring alignment with the group’s strategy, values, governance framework and regulatory requirements. He/she will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and administering executive remuneration programs:
    • Managing & executing the payroll of Executive Committee and Board Members
    • Managing the yearly cycle of Executive Remuneration; i.e. performance appraisals and target setting both at individual and business level
    • Being responsible for the management, follow-up and execution of the LTI plan
    • Serving as a key point of contact for all matters related to executive remuneration
  • Conducting on a regular basis benchmarking analysis on executive remuneration trends and best practices to ensure competitiveness
  • Staying abreast of regulatory changes and ensure Ageas’ remuneration arrangements comply with all relevant laws, regulations and external requirements.
  • Preparing regulatory submissions including drafting the Remuneration Report, and other required disclosures.
  • Assisting with the preparation of materials for the Remuneration Committee, and topics for the Board on Remuneration, liaising closely with the Director Strategic Reward, and the Group HR Director.
  • Ensuring group wide implementation, and maintenance of the Group Remuneration Policy.
  • Managing the relationship with various functions and regions within the group, such as HR, Finance, Legal, Tax, and Compliance, as well as external vendors and consultants, to ensure the delivery of high-quality and efficient executive remuneration services.
  • Assisting with a variety of projects, such as the design and implementation of a framework for Senior Management Reward Governance and the preparation and operational follow-up for our regular Reward Committee.

Your profile

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources, finance, economics, law, or a related field;
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience, with 2-3 years of relevant experience in (executive) remuneration, or a similar role, preferably in a large and complex organization;
  • Proficiency in data management, analysis, and visualization tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, etc.;
  • Knowledge of (executive) remuneration principles, policies, and practices, as well as applicable laws and regulations in different jurisdictions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with different audiences and levels of seniority;
  • A proactive, flexible, and collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and adapt to changing priorities and needs;
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical awareness, with respect for data privacy and confidentiality.
