The vibrant Ageas Corporate Centre in Brussels is home to a variety of Group level functions including, amongst others, Risk, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Strategy, Business Development and Corporate Communications. It sets out the long-term strategy for Ageas and coordinates numerous initiatives across the Group to help realise the strategic ambitions.

Our team

The Technology Foundations department is responsible for ensuring that IT investments in the Ageas Group operating companies are fit to support the Group strategy of Elevate 27. In addition it also oversees the IT Architecture of the Ageas Group Headquarter (~200 people) in close collaboration with the Head of Corporate Centre IT.

 

These Technology Foundations team have 3 key focus areas

• Systems – Focusing on technologies that enable the business, and in particular the new ones that can improve the alignment with business startegy
• Methods – Ensuring proper management of IT and Group assets
• Synergies – Identifying and materializing Group synergies

 

Tech Foundations – Systems team:  

• Runs the architecture office in the Ageas Corporate Centre
• Supports the development of Ageas Group assets and promotes their implementation in the operating companies
• Supports operating companies to implement Group standards and best practices
• Supports the operating companies in their transformation programs

 

The focus of this role will include: 

Contribute to the Architecture office of the Ageas Corporate Centre:

• Define architecture vision that contribute to the realization of Corporate Centre IT strategy
• Design solution architecture for Corporate Centre projects, aligned with defined architecture vision
• Evaluate vendors and solutions for IT projects
• Document, manage and maintain the reference architecture library
• Work closely with the Information Security team to ensure alignment to Ageas security standards
• Contribute to innovation, application portfolio rationalization, and project lifecycle management
• Leverage the available expertise within the internal network to develop new enterprise architecture insights and realize smart synergies

 

Contribute to the Ageas Group initiatives:

• Oversee the development of Group IT platforms and applications from an Architecture perspective

• Provide guidance to the implementation teams to ensure business requirements are correctly translated at the right level, and consider reusability, security, maintainability, technical requirements, strategy fit, total cost of ownership, IT footprint, future-proofness etc.
• Ensure that various solution alternatives are investigated and ensure the right technology choices are made. Provide strong and formal architecture advice on choices/selections from a Group Technology point of view backed by the necessary rationale & justification.

 

Contribute to the Ageas Group Architects community:

• Contribute to the Ageas Group Architecture community, gathering the Lead Architects of Ageas companies and to cross-companies capabilities/technologies/applications

 

 

Your profile

Qualifications:

• Master’s in Information Technology
• Relevant certifications and expertise in enterprise integration and Azure cloud

 

Previous experience:

• Experience of at least 5 years in similar roles preferably in the financial sector or insurance industry
• Ability to rapidly define target architectures in line with modern architecture & design best practices on the Microsoft Azure based platforms
• Knowledge of Insurance industry is a plus

• You have a conceptual mind and are a doer, able to derive successful solutions out of a complex range of requirements
• As a team player, you are prepared to stick to the mission and go deep in the technical details whenever appropriate
• You possess excellent communication-skills and the ability to explain Enterprise architecture to IT and Non-IT executives
• You have excellent listening skills, ability to understand and discover the real and hidden requirements
• You can convince people
• You are prepared to share knowledge to make the team more powerful
