The vibrant Ageas Corporate Centre in Brussels is home to a variety of Group level. It sets out the long term strategy for Ageas and coordinates numerous initiatives across the Group to help realise the strategic ambitions. The Corporate Centre also facilitates knowledge and skills sharing amongst its local operating entities and JV’s, creating strong connections and leveraging on local strengths. It represents the Ageas Group towards external parties, managing relations with analysts, retail and institutional investors, regulators, rating agencies and the media.

The Free Capital Generation, Solvency & Asset Reporting department is looking for a motivated Solvency II Specialist to strengthen our team. In this role, you will play a key part in the Solvency II Internal Model project, contributing to its design, implementation, and critical deliverables. The department covers two critical areas:

  • Free capital Generation (FCG): Measuring Capital performance and how efficiently an insurer manages its capital. The focus is also on Long-term capital sustainability, ensuring the insurer has adequate solvency to meet regulatory requirements over time
  • Solvency & Asset reporting: Ensuring timely and accurate quarterly and annual regulatory reporting and providing detailed asset reports that empower stakeholders to make informed strategic decisions.

Ageas is implementing an Internal Model to calculate regulatory solvency capital requirements under the Solvency II framework. This model provides more granular and accurate risk insights, strengthens risk management, and supports the optimization of capital consumption across the group. The Internal Model project is now entering the next phase, focusing on finalizing the design, implementation, testing and parallel runs. Full approval and go live of the Internal Model are expected by the end of 2027.

As the Internal Model project impacts both domains of the department, your role as Solvency II Specialist is pivotal. You will act as a bridge between the two domains and serve as the key operational link between the department and the Internal Model project team

Your function

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Drive Implementation: Support the technical and functional rollout of the Internal Model within the department, focusing on:
    • FCG: Provide technical support to the FCG team and actively help integrating Internal Model requirements into the Ageas FCG framework.
    • Solvency & Asset Reporting: Ensure regulatory solvency reporting is adapted, tested, and ready for production in 2027
  • Testing & Optimization: Assist with dry and parallel runs during implementation, analyze lessons learned and implement improvements.
  • Readiness & Adoption: Prepare the department to fully leverage the Internal Model by equipping team members with the right knowledge, tools, and processes.
  • Continuity and Expertise: As the project phases out, you will transition into an operational role while remaining the key point of contact for all Internal Model related topics. You will also actively contribute to initiatives and projects that strengthen our solvency framework and capital optimization.

You will collaborate closely with the Internal Model Project Team, other Group Finance teams, Group Risk, and local subsidiaries. Your contribution will be key in supporting the project and driving its successful adoption across Ageas.

Your profile

  • You have a Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance or Business Administration
  • You have 2-5 years of experience in finance, preferably in insurance
  • You possess a solid understanding of the Solvency II framework
  • You have good knowledge of Excel, and understanding of VBA is a plus
  • You are highly motivated, with a strong self-learning attitude
  • You work well in a team environment, but can also operate independently
  • You are proactive, organized, and enthusiastic about delivering high-quality results
  • You are fluent in English (both written and spoken)
