The vibrant Ageas Corporate Centre in Brussels is home to a variety of Group level functions including, amongst others, Risk, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Strategy, Business Development and Corporate Communications. It sets out the long-term strategy for Ageas and coordinates numerous initiatives across the Group to help realise the strategic ambitions. The Corporate Centre also facilitates knowledge and skills sharing amongst its local operating entities and JV’s, creating strong connections and leveraging on local strengths. It represents the Ageas Group towards external parties, managing relations with analysts, retail and institutional investors, regulators, rating agencies and the media.

Department

Activities covered by the team of Group Technology Development and Group Purchasing are Corporate  Center IT coordination & operations, Group Applied Tech, Data & AI, Data Management, Group Procurement and Group Synergies Creation Initiatives.

The department is in charge of managing the IT of the Corporate Center, the Ageas Group headquarters, and developing group initiatives. These Group initiatives including the 13 countries where Ageas is active are twofold: on one hand developing synergies by delivering group assets developed once and reused multiple times in Group companies, and on the other hand make sure IT risks are managed adequately across the Group.

 

To strengthen the team, we are looking for a Group IT Security Expert.

 

The Group IT Security Expert will support the Group IT Security Manager in developing, maintaining and driving the implementation of the group framework for information security, with a focus on IT security (cybersecurity facilitating its implementation across Ageas companies, including the Ageas Corporate Center. This role involves translating the WHAT defined by the Group CISO into the HOW, through the architecture definition, development of operational frameworks and procedures, selection of tools, and definition of roles and responsibilities.

Your function

Group IT Security expert main responsibilities include among others:

  • MSSP SOC technical consultant and advisory for the Group in the following activities:
    • Onboarding security log sources: Identify and integrate all the necessary log sources, establish log management processes to SIEM and SOAR systems with balancing in security, cost and efficiency
    • Detection use cases identification, validation, integration.
    • Incident response playbook development, continuous improvement and regular testing
    • Ownership on MSSP current activities and focusing on continuous improvement
  • Security architecture definition encompassing: strategy, processes, governance, competencies and technology.
  • Operational Frameworks & Procedures Development: Assist in translating Information Security group policies into operational procedures, including defining security architecture, selecting technologies, and establishing processes with roles and responsibilities.
  • Implementation Support: Facilitate the implementation of the Group Information Security assets by supporting the selection of partners for implementation and operations, conducting Business Risk Assessments, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Security Asset Management: Actively manage Group security assets, including solutions and services, and ensure continuous improvement through regular security posture assessments and testing.
  • Reporting and Dashboard Consolidation: Assist in consolidating cybersecurity operations delivery reports, including KPI and KRI metrics, and support the follow-up of action plans based on assessments and audits.
  • Community support: Support the Group IT Security Manager in leading the community of Ageas companies' heads of IT Security and SMEs on cybersecurity initiatives and practice sharing.
  • Industry Trends Monitoring: Maintain an understanding of industry trends, emerging cyber threats, and new solutions. Share relevant information with the community of Ageas companies' CISOs and IT Security heads.

 

Next to Group activities, also assist Tech Corporate Center with:

  • IT security assessments of the Corporate Center by 2nd and 3rd lines of defense.
  • Security Activities Oversight: Oversee security activities such as access control, incident management, alerting, response, forensics, and reporting at the Corporate Center.
  • Risk Assessment Validation: Validate Ageas Corporate Center projects and solutions from an IT security perspective through Business Risk Assessments.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT security, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH) is an advantage
  • Proven track record in security operations and project implementation.
  • Strong technical skills on IT Security (Endpoint Management, SIEM, SOAR)
  • Expertise in risk management and incident response.
  • Up-to-date understanding of cybersecurity trends and technologies.
  • Familiarity with security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
