Ageas Re
Ageas Re is organized as a Business Unit within ageas SA/NV, the Group holding, on whose balance sheet it underwrites third-party and intra-group reinsurance under the trade name Ageas Re. Today, Ageas Re serves clients globally, specializing in property and casualty treaty reinsurance.
Your function
- Develop and manage strong relationships with clients and brokers across Latin America and Iberia
- Represent Ageas Re in the market through client visits, conferences, and industry events
- Build in-depth understanding of regional market dynamics, cedants’ underwriting practices, and competitive landscape
- Act as a key regional contact and spokesperson for Credit & Bond reinsurance
- Analyze, evaluate, and underwrite C&B reinsurance submissions, including:
- Cedant financials and portfolio performance
- Country, sector, and credit risk
- Product structure and underlying exposures
- Negotiate and price complex reinsurance contracts in line with underwriting guidelines
- Apply strong technical judgement to ensure profitable and disciplined underwriting decisions
- Contribute to underwriting strategy through market insights and client feedback
- Support the development of the Latin America and Iberia book of business
- Assist on global accounts and new business opportunities outside the region where needed
- Work closely with actuarial, risk, legal, finance, and operations teams
- Ensure underwriting practices are aligned with Ageas Re policies, procedures, and governance standards
- Contribute to reporting, data quality, and internal underwriting processes
Your profile
- 7–10 years of experience in (re)insurance underwriting, in Credit & Bond / Credit & Surety
- Proven experience in Latin America and/or Iberia markets (client-facing exposure strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated track record in client relationship development and deal execution
- University degree in finance, economics, actuarial science, engineering, or related field
- Clear client-centric and market-facing role
- Strong emphasis on Latin America & Iberia expertise

- Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to operate independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic international environment
- English (mandatory), Spanish (mandatory), Portuguese and/or other European languages (strongly desirable)
