Ageas Re 

Ageas Re is organized as a Business Unit within ageas SA/NV, the Group holding, on whose balance sheet it underwrites third-party and intra-group reinsurance under the trade name Ageas Re. Today, Ageas Re serves clients globally, specializing in property and casualty treaty reinsurance. 

You will be joining the Ageas Re Underwriting team, supporting the business development in Latin America & Iberia. You will be responsible for reviewing offers, assisting in pricing reinsurance contracts, and maintaining high-quality data administration and reporting. Effective communication with clients and brokers, as well as collaboration with other underwriters and actuaries, are essential aspects of the job. You have strong affinity for foreign cultures and the desire to evolve in an international business environment. The position is open to candidates at the Assistant Underwriter level or with already a level of underwriting authority. After a training period, you will have the possibility to evolve to the Underwriter’s level with underwriting authority and business development responsibilities.

Your function

Your main responsibilities are to:

  • Support the team in building a profitable portfolio;
  • Assist in pricing reinsurance contracts and reviewing offers;
  • Ensure high-quality data administration and reporting;
  • Communicate effectively with clients and brokers;
  • Work with other underwriters and actuaries on internal projects;
  • Support colleagues in administrative roles to optimize processes;
  • Maintain accuracy in all aspects of processing and attention to detail in all your tasks;
  • Develop underwriting skills;
  • After training period, visit clients and attend market events.

Your profile

Requirements

  • A strong academic background with a degree in economics or a related field;
  • Good analytical and technical skills;
  • Effective knowledge of MS-Office products, especially Excel;
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.

Considered a Plus

  • Experience working in the retail or financial services industries, particularly with reinsurance;
  • Knowledge of Portuguese, French and/or Dutch.

Personality and Mindset

  • A deep sense of reliability and responsibility, attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure during renewal seasons;
  • A strong willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies, tools, and methodologies;
  • A strong team player;
  • Good negotiation skills.
