Ageas Re
Ageas Re is organized as a Business Unit within ageas SA/NV, the Group holding, on whose balance sheet it underwrites third-party and intra-group reinsurance under the trade name Ageas Re. Today, Ageas Re serves clients globally, specializing in property and casualty treaty reinsurance.
Your function
- Design and maintain pricing models for reinsurance products using actuarial and statistical techniques.
- Analyze historical claims data, exposure metrics, and market trends to inform pricing decisions. The role will have a focus on the Property non-cat line.
- Support underwriting teams with pricing guidance and scenario modeling.
- Conduct profitability analysis and portfolio segmentation.
- Price and present pricing recommendations (mostly) independently to senior stakeholders and contribute to pricing governance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal pricing frameworks.
- Design and maintain pricing models for reinsurance products using actuarial and statistical techniques.
- Act as a mentor to junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and technical development across the underwriting and pricing teams.
- Provide support across multiple lines of business, not limited to a single domain, ensuring consistency and innovation in pricing strategies.
- Collaborate directly with underwriters to align pricing models with underwriting practices and business objectives.
- Stay informed on recent publications, industry developments, and branch-specific updates by attending conferences, engaging in professional communities, and contributing to internal or external publications—integrating relevant insights into pricing methodologies.
- Lead cross-functional projects that span multiple lines of business, including market studies, research initiatives, and tooling enhancements—driving forward new techniques and ideas beyond standard user-level engagement.
Your profile
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a related field;
- Technical (pricing) expertise in one or more Ageas Re business lines
- Progress toward actuarial qualifications
- 3 - 7 years reinsurance pricing experience;
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
- Sharp analytical skills;
- Proactive problem solving skills;
- Able to manage and meet deadlines and work under pressure;
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming language such as VBA, R, Python, SQL.
