The vibrant Ageas Corporate Centre in Brussels is home to a variety of Group level functions including, amongst others, Risk, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Strategy, Business Development and Corporate Communications. It sets out the long term strategy for Ageas and coordinates numerous initiatives across the Group to help realise the strategic ambitions. The Corporate Centre also facilitates knowledge and skills sharing amongst its local operating entities and JV’s, creating strong connections and leveraging on local strengths. It represents the Ageas Group towards external parties, managing relations with analysts, retail and institutional investors, regulators, rating agencies and the media.

Your function

The Free Capital Generation (FCG), Solvency & Asset Reporting department in Brussels, within the CFO function of Ageas is, looking for a motivated Intern to contribute to a critical benchmarking project within the Free Capital Generation (FCG) Team.

Free Capital Generation is a vital measure of Capital performance and how efficiently an insurer manages its capital. The focus is also on Long-term capital sustainability, ensuring the insurer has adequate solvency to meet regulatory requirements over time.

This internship is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to make a meaningful impact while learning about the evolving dynamics of capital management in the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive peer analysis of Free Capital Generation frameworks and methodologies used by insurers in the market
• Perform a structured benchmarking exercise to identify best practices and insights
• Design and propose how this one-off benchmarking project could be transitioned into an efficient recurring process
• Develop a standardized and automated template for recurring collection of peer and industry data from external vendors
• Organize the results of the analysis in the FCG database
• Develop dynamic graphical visualizations for management reporting

Your profile

• A student or recent graduate in finance, actuarial science, economics, or a related field
• Analytical mindset with a strong grasp of financial metrics
• Capable of structuring tasks effectively and with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to deliver clear results
• Creative and familiar with data visualization tools (Excel or Power BI)
• Interest in the insurance sector
• Motivated to learn and eager of adding value to Ageas
