The vibrant Ageas Corporate Centre in Brussels is home to a variety of Group level functions including, amongst others, Risk, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Strategy, Business Development and Corporate Communications. It sets out the long term strategy for Ageas and coordinates numerous initiatives across the Group to help realise the strategic ambitions. The Corporate Centre also facilitates knowledge and skills sharing amongst its local operating entities and JV’s, creating strong connections and leveraging on local strengths. It represents the Ageas Group towards external parties, managing relations with analysts, retail and institutional investors, regulators, rating agencies and the media.

Your function

The vision of the Ageas Technology Development department is to be a catalyst to bring technology to a next level and remain the guardian of good practices across the Ageas Group.

Its mission is to develop smart synergies and leverage technology to generate business opportunities by:

  • Leading the delivery of Technology in support of Ageas strategic Business Development initiatives
  • Co-creating group technology assets delivering recognized added value in cost, speed and quality, while preserving local autonomy. Developed once, reused many
  • Providing knowledgeable & experienced group resources locally at the conception and/or in the follow-up of local key projects
  • Provide second opinion and advisory on key projects in Ageas companies
  • Sharing on how technology is applied to grow or expand business

 

To strengthen the team, we are looking for a Technology for Business Manager.

The Technology for Business Manager will contribute significantly to shaping the technological evolution of our international insurance group. The role focuses on supporting Business Development initiatives cross-entity of the group through technology-driven solutions that foster innovation, enhance efficiency, and promote sustainable growth. Your expertise and ability to address complex challenges while building collaborative relationships across the companies of the group will be critical to achieving these objectives and delivering meaningful value to the organization.

 

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Support the identification of opportunities to streamline technology investments and contribute to developing group-wide digital capabilities that enhance competitive advantage. This includes promoting digitization, supporting the development of AI/Generative AI group assets, and proposing suitable operating models.
  • Partner with Business Development teams to provide technological insights and guidance for strategic cross-functional initiatives, such as Agency, Customer Experience (CX), Operational Efficiency, and others.
  • Promote a culture of digital innovation and technology adoption by conducting research, supporting Proof of Concept (POC) developments, and sharing best practices across the group organization.
  • Assist in delivering transformative technology projects that enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experiences, and support the delivery of effective products and services across the Group.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify resource requirements, propose organizational adjustments, and ensure proper budget allocation to support impactful technology-driven initiatives.
  • Participate in preparing high-quality Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for technology projects. Assist in managing vendor relationships, evaluating proposals, and selecting suitable technology partners aligned with strategic objectives.

 

Your profile

  • Educational Background: a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Sciences, IT, Business Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 5–8 years of professional experience following a Master's degree. Experience with strategic technology projects or Manager role a reputable in consulting firm is highly valued.
  • Flexibility and Mobility: willingness to work internationally and travel across Europe and Asia as part of the Group’s global operations and initiatives.
  • Industry Knowledge: a solid understanding of the insurance industry and technology trends, with a focus on aligning technology initiatives to meet industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: demonstrated leadership capabilities, emotional intelligence (EQ), and the ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior executives to technical and business experts, ensuring alignment and shared understanding of technology strategies.
