I have a critical illness... how can AG support me?
When is an illness considered "critical"?
The costs of treating an illness that's not on the list will only be refunded for hospital stays directly related to the illness.
In most of its plans, AG Employee Benefits & Health Care covers 30 critical illnesses (FR - NL). To consult the list of critical illnesses or to find out more about your covers, log in and register on MyAG Employee Benefits. You can also download the MyAG Employee Benefits app from your app store. This way, you always have all the information about your insurance covers at your fingertips as well as the option to report a hospital admission and send in your medical expenses quickly and conveniently.
How to use your critical illness coverage?
How do you claim back your medical expenses?
You can collect all medical expenses (bills, receipts, etc.) in connection with your critical illness and send them in for a refund. This can include hospital bills, but also purchases of medication - with the AssurPharma system, pharmacists can instantly send your receipts to AG - and treatment by a specialist. To expedite the processing of your claim, we recommend that you submit your expenses via the app MyAG Employee Benefits on a regular basis. This way, you get your money back sooner and can easily keep track of the expenses you've submitted.
Tip: you can go online and request an overview of your medical expenses from your Sickness Fund
With the app, you have quick, convenient access to emergency services and assistance to keep your mental and physical health in tip-top shape.

What happens if I'm on long-term sick leave?
Your employer might have taken out income protection insurance for you, which guarantees you an income on top of the statutory allowance.
As for waiver of premium coverage, it ensures that your group insurance contributions will continue to be made even if you're on extended sick leave and your employer is no longer required to pay the premiums. This way, you continue to save towards a supplementary pension.
