The Risk Modelling Techniques team in the Central Risk Office is responsible for challenging and improving the models used in risk management at AG. The team is also a hub for developing innovative methodologies to better identify the company's risks and their evolution. These methodologies therefore need to take account of changes linked to AG's overall strategy, its economic environment and regulatory constraints.

To strenthen this team, we are looking for a new Senior Risk Modeller.

• You will analyse complex mathematical models used in risk management at AG and suggest new ideas to improve these models.
• You will highlight the weaknesses of existing models in a structured way. You will set out your ideas for improvements before testing them by creating prototypes (Matlab, R, Python, VBA). You will write technical specifications so that your ideas are correctly implemented in the central valuation model. You will then ascertain the impact of the proposed improvements on the company's valuation and carry out an in-depth analysis of the movements observed.
• You will communicate the results of your analyses and your new ideas to different audiences, adapting your communication style to suit the target group.
• You will take part in various technical committees as an expert in risk models and valuation of financial instruments.
• You constantly put your modelling work into perspective within AG's specific global economic context.
• On an ad hoc basis, you will provide expert support to the various people using the models set up by the team.

Does this sound like you?

• You are fascinated by mathematical models and motivated by challenges. You have a talent for conceptualising complex problems, identifying the underlying components and their interactions. You also have at least five years' experience in risk modelling and simulation in the financial sector (insurance/banks).
• You are committed to your role, with a strong team spirit. That doesn't stop you getting enjoyment out of learning and exploring new concepts, proactively and independently. You communicate your needs clearly in this context.
• Highly rigorous, structured and organised, you deliver high quality work with a keen eye for detail. You are also able to adapt quickly, showing flexibility when the situation calls for it.
• You are able to implement calculation code in different environments such as Matlab, R, Python or VBA. Ideally, you have a good command of the functionalities associated with stochastic processes, statistical analysis and solving optimisation problems.
• You have in-depth knowledge of stochastic process modelling, statistical analysis techniques and numerical techniques used in solving constrained optimisation problems.
• You are fluent in English (written and spoken) and ideally in French and/or Dutch.
• You have a PhD or Master's degree in actuarial sciences, civil engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, physics or a similar quantitative field.
