You claim your group insurance entitlements when you retire, on your official statutory retirement date. In a limited number of cases, you may be allowed to claim your group insurance proceeds earlier, but never before the age of 60 (with the exception of certain professional categories).
The Federal Pensions Service (FPS) will notify us of your retirement date. Roughly 2.5 months before you retire, AG will send you a letter outlining the practical details for collecting your supplementary pensions entitlements.
You can still get a hard copy of your benefits statements. Just e-mail us to let us know your preferences. We do, however, encourage you to give MyAG Employee Benefits a try. You'll get a clear overview of all your benefits, plus we explain all the details in more easily digestible language than on your paper statements.
If you want to know how much you'll collect when your group insurance plan reaches maturity, go to MyAG Employee Benefits. It's where you'll find your gross benefit amount. Your tax liability will depend on when you actually retire and whether you remain actively employed until the end of your career.
All of the information on MyAG Employee Benefits is very clear:

Taken on a new job elsewhere? Then you may be wondering what happens to the savings you’ve accrued in your group insurance plan. Like a lot of people, you may be operating under the false assumption that you automatically forfeit your entitlements.
Let's start with the most important message: even if you've taken on a new job elsewhere, you still get to keep your group insurance savings (= accrued reserves) as they are yours as soon as you enrol in the plan.
If you change companies, you'll be given a choice of options to continue to build up your retirement nest egg. To assist you in the decision-making process, we've provided a recap on our details page.
If your children are under the age of 18, you can activate their card as the head of the household. This generally happens automatically. If your children have reached the age of 18, they will have to activate their card themselves. Once all the cards have been activated, any adult member of the household can send in expenses for the whole family.
The quickest and easiest way to do this is via MyAG Employee Benefits.
