Congratulations, you now have one of the most comprehensive hospital plans on the market!
1. What costs are covered during a hospital stay?
Hospicare Flexible refunds your medical expenses associated with a hospital stay. Coverage will be provided for the following types of expenses:
- Inpatient room and board in a single-occupancy room
- Day-case admissions
- Doctors’ fees, diagnostic examinations, treatment and medication
- Prosthetics, implants and other medical material (subject to certain conditions)
- Home births (flat-rate compensation)
- Room and board for one of the parents throughout their child's inpatient stay
- (Emergency) transportation to the hospital or transfers between two hospitals
2. What costs are covered before and after a hospital stay?
Nowadays, patients often require medical attention before and after a hospital stay. This is why pre-admission and post-discharge outpatient care expenses will also be covered, as long as they are related to the reason for the hospital admission. This includes:
- medication
- doctors' fees (general practitioner, specialist, etc.) or paramedical treatment (physiotherapist, orthopaedist, etc.)
- in-home care
- prosthetic and orthopaedic devices (eyeglasses, contact lenses, crutches, etc.)
Depending on the terms of your policy, the eligible pre-admission and post-discharge period will be 1 month before and 3 or 6 months after the hospital stay. For example, if your policy covers 1 month - 3 months: for a hospital stay from 10-15 June, you can claim back your expenses for treatment provided after 9 May and before 16 September.
3. You've been diagnosed with a critical illness. What should you do?
Coverage will be provided year-round for medical care to treat 30 critical illnesses (FR- NL), even without a hospital stay. The list is available on the MyAG Employee Benefits app. To activate your coverage, you'll need to send us a medical certificate from your GP.
Need a sympathetic ear? With My Mind by AG, available on the MyAG Employee Benefits app, you get the opportunity to speak to and be heard by professionals.
4. What should you do if you get sick while travelling abroad?
Fortunately, you get the same extensive coverage (Hospitalisation, Pre-Admission/Post-Discharge Outpatient Care, Critical Illness) all over the world, whether in Belgium or abroad. In addition, AG Employee Benefits will settle your hospital bills directly with the foreign hospital (third-party payer agreement). We'll even repatriate any insured family members back home if necessary, all at our expense.
Note: this is a general overview of the Hospicare Flexible covers. Some of the covers may not apply to your specific corporate-sponsored plan. For a full description of the covers and the applicable terms, go to your personal area on MyAG Employee Benefits.

What are the main non-covered risks?
Medical expenses resulting from "gross negligence" (e.g. reckless behaviour, alcoholism, drug addiction and presciption drug abuse) are excluded from coverage. Non-medically necessary treatments such as cosmetic procedure, contraception and preventive examinations and check-ups are also excluded. Note that general maximum caps and reimbursement rates will also apply.
