A worry-free vacation: what you and your staff members need to know

Now that the winter months are around the corner, many of your staff members will soon be off on a well-deserved vacation. Request a Certificate of Insurance: self-service option

 

An important part of getting ready for a vacation is the Certificate of Insurance. In some countries, a Certificate of Insurance is required to obtain a visa or access to medical care. Without this document, hospitals and doctors may refuse to treat your staff members.

Good news!

Your staff members can request this handy document themselves via MyAG Employee Benefits (computer or app version). In just a few clicks, the Certificate will be sent to their inbox within 24 hours. They can then download the Certificate and save it on their smartphone. This way, they'll always have it close at hand, even without an Internet connection. The benefits? Convenience, speed and peace of mind for them, and less paperwork for your HR department.

Comprehensive worldwide coverage

 

Unexpected health problems can happen to anyone, anywhere and at any time.  Even while travelling abroad. Fortunately, your hospital plan provides the best possible care. It includes:

  • Worldwide coverage: for both scheduled services and treatments (subject to prior approval by the Sickness Fund) and unplanned, emergency hospital admissions, anywhere in the world.
  • Medical expenses: refunds for illness or accident -related medical expenses, including hospital stays (also in a single room if your plan covers this), doctor's appointments and medication.
  • Third-party payer system: in most cases, your staff members won't have to advance any funds whatsoever. AG will get and settle the hospital bill directly.
  •  If your coverage also includes Assistance while Travelling Abroad:
    • emergency transportation to the hospital
    • urgent medical attention
    • the cost of repatriation back to Belgium
    • search and rescue costs (e.g. after an accident or natural disaster, up to a maximum of EUR 5,000)
    • the cost of accommodation for a family member to visit the patient in the hospital
    • etc.

Doktr: anytime, anywhere access to a doctor 

 

With Doktr, integrated in the My Care by AG health service, your staff members can easily contact a doctor at their convenience. My Care by AG is included in your group insurance plan and is available via the MyAG Employee Benefits app. Your staff members will have access to:

  • Telehealth consultations* with a doctor licensed to practise in Belgium. This is particularly useful in foreign countries, as it can be stressful navigating the language barrier and an unfamiliar healthcare system.
  • Medical advice and a diagnosis, without the bother of getting to a doctor's office or sitting in a waiting room. Your staff members can simply open the app and immediately get the help they need.
  • Remote prescriptions available in the app immediately after the consultation along with a report for the patient's own GP.

My Care Premium, extra care for your staff members

 

If you've added the more extensive My Care Premium to your plan, your staff members will be entitled to two online Doktr video consultations per year, free of charge.

In addition, your staff members can make unlimited use of Symptom Checker, a reliable tool based on more than a decade of medical experience and artificial intelligence. How exactly does it work? They simply open the app, enter their symptoms and get information about possible conditions.

Has your staff member been hospitalised in a foreign country?

 

If so, it's important to contact Touring, AG's assistance provider, as soon as possible. Their number is as follows: +32 (0)2 664 01 70 (available 24/7). Once Touring has been notified, we'll take care of all the next steps, including the refund.
