Do you have an employee approaching retirement? It’s a major milestone – both personally and administratively. Every bit of simplification helps. Take the attestation of professional activity: a key document that enables employees to benefit from a lower tax rate on their pension capital. The good news? This process has now been significantly streamlined thanks to full automation and a direct data connection between AG and the public Sigedis database. The result: less admin for you, and a smoother transition into retirement for your employee.

What is the attestation for?

It enables your employee to enjoy a reduced tax rate of 10% (instead of 16.5%) on the portion of their pension capital built up through employer contributions. More info? Click here.

To qualify, the employee must either:

  • remain in active employment until reaching the legal retirement age (currently 66 years), or
  • have completed a full 45-year career, staying active until the end.

In two-thirds of the cases, you no longer need to do anything for the attestation of professional activity.

What’s changed?

Previously, employers were required to complete a form confirming that the employee had remained actively employed during the final three years before reaching the legal retirement age – a task often seen as tedious and prone to mistakes.

Now, that step is mostly automated. AG retrieves the relevant data directly from Sigedis.

In practice:

  • If Sigedis confirms the employment data: no action needed – AG handles everything.
  • If Sigedis cannot verify the data (a rare occurrence): the original form is still required.

The impact?

Previously, forms were needed in around 32% of cases. That is, for every employee who reached the legal retirement age (currently 66 years) or had a complete 45-year career at the time of their retirement. Today, that figure has dropped to roughly 10%. For two-thirds of the cases, we receive confirmation directly from Sigedis - a real time saver for you!

Simplified procedures

As an employer, your time is valuable. That’s why AG continues to invest in automation to ease the pension process and to free you as much as possible from administrative tasks. Recent upgrades include:

  • Automatic retrieval of the retirement date via Sigedis
  • Automatic transmission of bank account details since 2025 (in line with the Transparency Act)
  • Automated employee communication about converting capital into an annuity (also since 2025)

These improvements help reduce your workload while ensuring that employees receive clear, timely support at this key life stage.

Frequently asked question: “How much will I receive net?”

It’s probably the most frequent question your HR department hears. AG answers it through the MyAG Employee Benefits app, which allows employees to simulate their net supplementary pension at any time:
